ORDINANCE NO. 19251 <br />AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING ANIMAL EUTHANASIA; AMENDING <br />SECTION 4.45D OF THE EUGENE CODE, 1971; AND DECLARING <br />AN EMERGENCY. <br />THE CITY DF EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. Subsection ~1~ of Section 4.450 of the Eu ene Code 1911 <br />9 ~ , <br />is hereby amended to read and provide: <br />4.450 Animal Euthanasia. <br />~1~ No animal agency may put to death a dog or cat by any means <br />other than an individual injection of sodium pentobarbital administered by <br />a veterinarian, animal technician or person licensed by the Oregon State <br />Veterinary Medical Examining Board to administer sodium pentobarbital. <br />Section 2. That the matters contained herein concern the public welfare <br />and safety and therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist, and this <br />Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its adoption by the City <br />Council and approval by the Mayor. <br />Passed by the City Council this <br />34th day of May, 1984 <br />1Ca~..~.. c4-.~_~ <br />~~.
