oRD INANCE Na . l s s s 3 <br />AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING VISION SAFETY PARKING <br />ZQNES; AMENDING SECTIQNS 5.010, 5.040 AND 5.225 <br />aF THE EUGENE CaDE, 1971; AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY. <br />THE CITY OF EUGENE DaES aRDAIN AS FOLLawS: <br />Sectian 1. Section 5.010 of the Eugene Code, 1971, is hereby <br />amended by adding in alphabetical order therein the following: <br />5.010 Definitions. In addition to those definitions contain- <br />ed in DRS Chapters 481 to 485, and 487, the following <br />wards and phrases, except where the context clearly indicates a <br />different meaning, shall mean: <br />Vision safety parkin zone. An area in the street <br />adjacent to the curb, not in excess of 140 feet in <br />length from the point of tangency of a curb return <br />which has been designated by appropriate signs or mark- <br />ings as a "Vision Safety Parking Zone". <br />Section 2. Sectian 5.040 of the Eugene Code, 1971, is hereby <br />amended by adding a new subsection ~.1~ thereto, to provide: <br />5.0 4 0 Duties of the C ,,,.,,.,___,_„ ,~,,,, <br />_ ___ - ,,,,,,ity Manager. The city manager _or his <br />designate shall~exerese the following duties by admin- <br />istrative action: <br />~.1~ Designate vision safety parking zones. <br />Section 3. Subsection ~l} of Section 5.225 of the Eugene Code, <br />1971, is hereby amended by adding a new subparagraph ~k~ thereto, to <br />provide: <br />5.225 Prohibited Parkin and Standing; Exceptions. <br />~ 1 ~ In addition to the state motor vehicle laws pro- <br />hibiting parking, no person shall park or stand: <br />~k~ A vehicle in an area designated as a vision <br />safety parking zone, except a motorcycle, a trailer of <br />less than 3 feet in height, or any other vehicle less <br />than 5 feet in height with windows on all four sides <br />that are transparent and unobstructed. <br />Ordinance - l <br />
