(H si-2) <br />ORDINANCE N0. ~_ <br />AN ORDINANCE DESIGNATING THE SCHAEFERS BUILDING <br />A HISTORIC LANDMARK WITHIN THE CITY OF <br />EUGENE, OREGON <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EUGENE FINDS THAT: <br />- Pursuant to Sections 2.402, 2.401, and 2.405 of the Eugene Code, 1971, <br />the City Council has the authority and responsibility, subject to the limitations <br />contained therein, to designate certain buildings, structures, other physical <br />objects, including their sites, and geographic areas within the City as Historic <br />Landmarks. <br />.Based upon the report received from the Historic Review Board, the <br />materials that have been transmitted therewith, and the evidence presented <br />before the Historic Review Board and this Council, the application for designa- <br />tion as an Historic Landmark is consistent with applicable statewide and <br />locally-adopted plans, and the Schaefers Building, including its site, for which <br />H~stor~c Landmark designation has been requested meets one or more of the <br />criteria required for Historic Landmark designation. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, <br />Based upon the foregoing, the City Council hereby adopts as its own the <br />specific affirmative findings contained in the Historic Review Board staff notes <br />and minutes of November 19, 1951, for the reasons set forth therein, and <br />THE CITY OF EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS; <br />Section 1. Under authority of Sections 2.407 and 2.408 of the Eugene <br />Code, , the Schaefers Building, which is located on the following described <br />real property, is hereby designated as an Historic Landmark. <br />Beginning at the Northwest corner of Lot 2, Block 11, Mulligans Donation <br />to Eugene, as platted and recorded in volume A, Page 122, Deed Records of <br />Lane County, Oregon; running thence South along the West line of Block 17 <br />a d i stance of 80.32 feet to the center 1 i ne of a wa1 l ; thence East al ang <br />the centerline of said wall to the West line of an alley running through <br />said Block 17; thence North 50.32 feet to the Northeast corner of said Lot <br />2; thence West to the place of beginning, in Lane County, Oregon. <br />Section 2. The Schaefers Building shall be controlled by the restrictions <br />set forth in Exhibit "A" and by Sections 2.409 through 2.411 of the Eugene Code, <br />1971, <br />ORDINANCE--Page 1 of 2 <br />
