ORDINANCE NO. _~~ <br />AN ORDINANCE ORDERING ALN ELECTION To BE CON- <br />DUCTED BY THE LANE COUNTY ELECTION DEPARTMENT <br />ON THE 18TH DAY OF MAY, 1982, FOR THE PURPOSE <br />OF SUBMITTING TO THE LEGAL ELECTORS OF THE <br />CITY 4F EUGENE A MEASURE AUTHORIZING $186,667 <br />TAB ON OWNERSHIP OF REAL PROPERTY IN DOWNTOWN <br />DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT; ADAPTING POLLING PLACES <br />AND PROVIDING FOR ALL ACTS NECESSARY FOR THE <br />CARRYING ON OF SAID ELECTION; AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY. <br />THE CITY OF EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. The City Council does hereby order an election to <br />be held in the City of Eugene, Oregon, concurrently with the primary <br />election on Tuesday, May 18, 1982, at which election there shall be <br />submitted to the electors of the City for their approval or rejec- <br />tion, the following Measure, to-wit: <br />MEASURE SUBMITTED TO THE <br />VOTERS BY THE CITY COUNCIL <br />MEASURE NO. 5l <br />Shall City of Eugene tax owners of property in Down- <br />town Development District $186,667 for 1982-83 free-parking <br />program? <br />THE CITY OF EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br />BE IT ENACTED BY THE ELECTORS OF THE CITY OF EUGENE, <br />OREGON: <br />Section 1. Measure authorizes tax of $186,667 outside <br />Constitutional 6 percent limitation on ownership of real <br />property in Downtown Development District only and not else- <br />where in City for operating expenses of District July 1, <br />1982 to June 30, 1983. If Measure is approved, operating <br />budget of District to be financed by taxation on ownership <br />of real property in District for Tax Year 1982--83 will be <br />$1,999 less than the operating budget so financed in~pre- <br />ceding year. <br />Section 2. If voters approve this Measure, the Down- <br />town Development Board will be able to continue to provide <br />FREE parking for patrons of the Downtown area, The cost <br />Ordinance -~ 1 <br />
