Administrative Order No. 57 -95-02

of the City Manager

APPROVING RESIDENCY STATUS AT THE HULT CENTER
FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS FOR THE EUGENE OPERA
AND OREGON'S FESTIVAL OF AMERICAN MUSIC, AND
REMOVAL OF THE EUGENE FESTIVAL OF MUSICAL
THEATRE FROM RESIDENCY STATUS.

The City Manager of the City of Eugene finds that:

A. The Residency Requirements Policy for Arts Organizations approved and
adopted by Resolution No. 4017 of the City Council on January 12, 1987 and subsequently
amended by Resolution No. 4454 on June 14 , 1995 establishes the criteria and
procedure by which local performing organizations may be designated Resident Companies
of the Hult Center for the Performing Arts, and the procedure for withdrawal of that
recognition.

B. In accordance with that Policy, the City's Cultural Services Division has
submitted to the City Manager its determination that the Eugene Opera and Oregon's
Festival of American Music meet the requirements of this Policy and has recommended that
they be declared Resident Companies of the H ult Center for the Performing Arts.

c. The City's Cultural Services Division has also advised the City Manager that
the Eugene Festival of Musical Theatre has ceased operations, and recommended that it be
removed from residency status.

D. The recommendations of the City's Cultural Services Division have been
reviewed and should be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE,

It is hereby ordered that:

1. Based upon the above findings, which are adopted herein, the Eugene Opera
and Oregon's Festival of American Music are declared to be Resident Companies of the
Hult Center for the Performing Arts, effective July 1, 1995 to June 30, 1996. Continuation
of their status as Resident Companies shall thereafter be governed by the provisions of the
Hult Center for the Performing Arts Residency Requirements for Arts Organization Policy
which provides for annual review and approval of continued status by the Center's staff or
withdrawal of approval by the City Manager.

2. I find that the Eugene Festival of Musical Theatre no longer meets the criteria
for residency status, and its recognition as a Resident Company is hereby withdrawn.

Administrative Order - 1
