18398 <br />Section ~.. For the fiscal period beginning July 1, <br />1979 and ending June .~Q, 1980, the City Council, of the City <br />of Eugene, oregon, is hereby authorized to leery for the <br />City in general a tax o~f $.7, 54Q { 21.0 for the purpose of pay- <br />ing the operating expenses o~ the City %n general for said <br />period of time, which tax is to be in addition to and out- <br />side the constitutional six percent limitation upon the <br />City~s tax levy as set forth in article xT, Section ll, of <br />the Constitution of the Sts,~te o~ Oregon, <br />Section 2. If this measure is approved, the operating <br />budget to be financed by local, taxes for the tax year 1979-80 <br />for the City in general, will be $1,,9aQ,892 greater than the <br />operating budget f %nanced by local taxes far the City in gen- <br />eral for the preceding year. <br />Section 3. This measure shall become effective su~,y 1, <br />1979. <br />Section 2. The proposed measure shall be placed upon the offi- <br />cial ballot by the City F,ecorder. There shall be furnished to the <br />County Clerk for Lane County a certified copy of the ballot title for <br />the measure and number of the measure to be voted upon, The City <br />Attorney shall prepare and the City Recorder shall furnish a ballot <br />title for the measure and direct that the County Clerk for Lane County <br />place the measure upon the regular ballot to be used at the Lane County <br />special election to be held on June 26, 1,979, to be voted upon by the <br />electors of the City at the special City election. <br />Section 3. The necessary poll books, ballot boxes, tally sheets, <br />and such other supplies for each precinct as are necessary for the <br />ordinance - 2 <br />
