18Y~o3 <br />Section 1. For the fiscal period beginning July 1, <br />1979 and ending June 34, 198Q, the City Council of the City <br />of Eugene, Oregon, is hereby authorized to levy, for purposes <br />of the Downtown Development Di,strct~ a tax of $211,568 on <br />the ownership of real property in the Da.strict, and not else-~ <br />where in the City , which tax i s to be ~i n adds, t a,on to and out- <br />side the constitutional six percent ~.i~m~,tation upon the <br />City's tax levy as set fprth in Article ~I, Section ll, of <br />the Cans ti tut~,on o~ the State of Oregon , <br />Section 2. If this measure is approved, the operating <br />budget of the Downtown Deve~,opment D~,str,ict to be financed <br />by ad valorem taxation for the 1979-~$0 ~~.scal year will be <br />$44,656 less than the operating budget financed by such taxa- <br />tion for the preceding fiscal year. <br />Section 3. This measure shall become effective July 1, <br />1979. <br />Section 2. The proposed measure shall be placed upon the offi- <br />vial ballot by the City Recorder. There shall be furn~,shed to the <br />County Clerk for Lane County a certified copy of the ballot title for <br />the measure and number o~ the measure t~ be voted upon. The City <br />attorney shall prepare and the City Fecarder shall, furnish a ballot <br />title for the measure and direct that. the County Clerk for Lane County <br />place the measure upon the regular ballot to be used at the Lane Count <br />y <br />special election to be held on June 26, ,1979, to be voted upon by the <br />electors of the City at the special City election. <br />Section 3.
