ORDINANCE NO. ~~~ <br />AN ORDINANCE DESIGNATING CERTAIN SOUTHERN PACIFIC <br />TRANSPORTATION CO. BUILDINGS WITHIN THE CITY OF <br />EUGENE, OREGON, AS HISTORIC LANDMARKS. <br />The City Council of the City of Eugene finds that: <br />Pursuant to Sections 2.4 0 2, ~ , 4 0 7 and 2 , 4 0 8 of the Eugene Code, <br />1971, the City Council has the authority and responsibility, subject <br />to the limitations contained therein, to designate certain buildings, <br />structures, other physical objects, including their sites, and geo- <br />graphic areas within the City as Historic Landmarks. <br />The Eugene Historic Review Board, HCC Department, has applied <br />far Historic Landmark designation for certain Southern Pacific Trans- <br />portation Co. Buildings, more particularly described as the Station <br />House, Express House, and Locker House Bunk House}, Based upon the <br />reports received from the Historic Review Board, the materials that <br />have been transmitted therewith and the evidence presented, the appli- <br />cation for designation as Historic Landmarks is consistent with appli- <br />cable statewide and locally-adopted plans, and the improvements for <br />which Historic Landmark designation has been requested meet one or <br />mare of the criteria required for Historic Landmark designation. <br />Now, therefore, based upon the above findings, and the prelimi- <br />nary staff notes and minutes of the Historic .Review Board of September <br />27, 1979, the materials that have been transmitted therewith and the <br />evidence presented, the City Council hereby adopts the spec.if is off ir- <br />mative findings contained therein, and <br />THE CITY~OF EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWSb <br />Section 1. Under authority of Section 2.408 of the Eugene Coder <br />1971, the Sou here Pacific Transportation Co. Station Houser Express <br />House and Locker House Bunk House, which are located on the following <br />described real property: <br />Beginning at a point three hundred sixteen {316} <br />feet north of the southwest corner of Block No. 4 <br />~four~ of Skinners Addition to Eugene City running <br />thence North SO°10' West 27 5/10 feet thence North <br />9°50' East 380 feet thence South 80°10' East 1400 <br />feet, thence South 9°50' West 380 feet, thence <br />North 80°10' West 1372 5/10 feet to the place of <br />beginning, as. recorded in the Lane County Deed Re- <br />cords, Book "J"`, Page 626, Lane County, Oregon. <br />are hereby designated as Historic Landmarks. <br />Section 2. The Southern Pacific Transportation Co, Station <br />House, Express House and Locker House Bunk House}, shall be con- <br />trolled by the restrictions set forth in Exhibit "A" and by Sections <br />2.409 through 2.411 of the Eugene Code, 1971. <br />Ordinance - 1 <br />
