Metropolitan Wastewater Management Commission Eugene Budget Detail <br /> <br />The section further provides necessary analytical services in support ofwastewater <br />treatment, residuals management, industrial source control, stormwater monitoring, and <br />special project activities of the Wastewater Division. The laboratory's services include <br />sample handling and analyses of influent sewage, treated wastewater, biosolids, <br />industrial wastes, cannery wastewater, stormwater, and groundwater. Information from <br />the laboratory is used to make treatment process control decisiOns, document <br />compliance with regulatory requirements, demonstrate environmental protection, and <br />ensure worker health and safety. <br /> <br />The Sampling Team is responsible for all of the sampling activities related to regional <br />wastewater program functions. These include the Eugene pretreatment program, <br />wastewater treatment process control, effluent and ambient water quality, groundwater <br />quality, facultative sludge lagoons, and stormwater samples. This section also <br />evaluates and reports on the sampling data for various programs. <br /> <br />MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SERVICES (MIS) <br />The MIS section provides services for electronic data gathering, analysis, and reporting <br />as necessary in compliance with regulatory requirements and management functions. <br />This section also maintains the electronic communication linkages with the City of <br />Eugene and the Regional Information System, and supplies technical expertise and <br />assistance in the selection, operation, and modification of computer systems (hardware <br />and software) within the Division. <br /> <br />PROJECT MANAGEMENT <br />Management ofwastewater system improvements and ongoing developments is carried <br />out by the Project Management staff. Activities include problem-solving and action <br />recommendations, project management, technical research, computer-aided design and <br />electronic storage of design drawings, and planning of projects to anticipate and prepare <br />for new regulatory and operational requirements. The Project Management staff <br />develops Request for Proposals and Request for Quotes, coordinate special project <br />activities between work sections, and coordinates the procurement of building permits as <br />necessary in support of project activities. <br /> <br /> April, 2004 DRAF¥ Page 43 FY 04-05 BUDGET AND CIP <br /> <br /> <br />
