<br />AN ORDINANCE DESIGNATING THE ALPHA TAU OMEGA HOUSE
<br />AS A HISTORIC LANDMARK WITHIN THE CITY OF EUGENE, OREGON
<br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EUGENE FINDS THAT:
<br />Pursuant to Sections 2.402, 2.407, and 2.405 of the Eugene Code, 1971,
<br />the City Counci 1 has the authari ty and ressons i bi 1 ity, subject to the limitations
<br />cantai ned therein, to designate certain buildings, structures, other physical
<br />objects, including their sites, and geographic areas within the City as Historic
<br />Landmarks.
<br />Based upon the report received from the Historic Review Board, the
<br />materials that have been transmitted therewith, and the evidence presented before
<br />the Historic Review Board and this Council , the application for designation as
<br />an Historic Landmark i s cans i stent with applicable statewide and l acal ly-adopted
<br />plans, and the Alpha Tau Omega House, including its site, for which Historic
<br />Landmark designation has been requested meets one ar more of the criteria
<br />required for Historic Landmark designation.
<br />NOW, THEREFORE,
<br />Based upon the foregoing, the City Counci 1 hereby adopts as its own the
<br />specific affirmative findings contained in the Historic Review Board staff notes
<br />and minutes of May Z9, 1950, for the reasons set forth therein, and
<br />THE CITY OF EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
<br />Section 1. Under authority of Section Z.4oS of the Eugene Code, 1971,
<br />the Ai pha Tau Omega House and its site, which i s located on the fol 1 owi ng
<br />descrrtbed real property is hereby designated as a Historic Landmark.
<br />Commencing at the Northwest corner of Lot 3 i n B1 ock 2 of Christian' s
<br />Addition to Lane County, Oregon, Eugene City, as platted and recorded at
<br />Page 601, of volume P, Lane County Oregon Deed Retards, and running thence
<br />South 44 feet, and 4 i nches thence East 160 feet, thence North 44 feet and
<br />4 inches, and thence West 164 feet to the place of beginning, i n Eugene,
<br />Lane County, Oregon. And beginning at a poi nt 75.5 feet South of the
<br />Northwest corner of Lot Two ~2} Block nineteen X19}, Mulligan's Donation
<br />to Lane County, Oregon as per p1 at recorded at Page ZZ6 of Volume A, Lane
<br />County Deed Records, running thence South 44.5 feet more ar less to the
<br />Southwest corner of Lot Three ~3} of said Block nineteen €19}, thence East
<br />80 feet, thence North 44.5 feet, more or less, to a point 75.5 feet South
<br />of the North line of said Lot Two ~2} i n B1 ock nineteen X19} , thence West
<br />to the place of beginning, bei ng a part of Lots Two ~Z} and Three ~3}
<br />B1 ock nineteen ~ 19} of Mul 1 i gan' s Donation to Lane County, Oregon.
