(H 75-3) <br />ORDINANCE N0. ~~~ <br />AN ORDINANCE DESIGNATING THE HAYSE BLACKSMITHING SHOP <br />AS A HISTORIC LANDMARK WITHIN THE CITY OF EUGENE, OREGON <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EUGENE FINDS THAT: <br />Pursuant to Sections 2.402, 2.407, and 2.405 of the Eugene Code, 1971, <br />the City Council has the authority and responsibility, subject to the limitations <br />contained therein, to designate certain buildings, structures, other physical <br />objects, including their sites, and geographic areas within the City as Hi stori c <br />Landmarks. <br />Based upon the report received from the Historic Review Board, the <br />materials that have been transmitted therewith, and the evidence presented before <br />the Historic Review Board and this Council, the application for designation as <br />an Historic Landmark i s consistent with applicable statewide and 1 oral ly-adopted <br />plans, and the Hayse B1 acksmi th Shop, i nc1 udi ng its site, for which Historic <br />Landmark designation has been requested meets one or more of the criteria <br />required for Historic Landmark designation. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, <br />Based upon the foregoing, the City Council hereby adopts as its own the <br />specific affirmative findings contained i n the Historic Review Board Staff Notes <br />and minutes of May 29, 1980, for the reasons set forth therein, and <br />THE CITY OF EUGENE DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. Under authority of Section 2.405 of the Eugene Code, 1971, <br />the Hayse Bl acksmi thi ng Shop and its site which i s 1 orated on the fo1 l owi ng <br />described real property ~s hereby designated as an Historic Landmark. <br />Lot 10, EXCEPTING that part in van Buren Street, and all of Lot 11, in <br />B1 ock 3, i n SLADDEN`S THIRD ADDITION TO EUGENE, as platted and recorded i n <br />Lane County Oregon Plat Records, in Lane County, Oregon. <br />Section 2. The Hayse Blacksmithing Shop and its site shall be controlled <br />by the restrictions set forth in Exhibit "A" and by Sections 2.409 through 2.411 <br />of the Eugene Code, 1971. <br />Section 3. The owner of the Hayse Blacksmithing Shop and its site may <br />make proposals to the City for its repair, maintenance, or restoration as <br />provided in Section 2,412 of the Eugene Code, 1971. <br />ORDINANCE--Page 1 of 2 <br />
