ORDINANCE NO. / $ ~Oq 7 <br />AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING ELECTIQNS, AMENDING SEC- <br />TIoN 2.964 GF THE EUGENE CODE, 1971; AND DECLAR- <br />ING AN EMERGENCY. <br />THE CITY OF EUGENE. DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1~. Su.bsection ~5~. of Section 2.964 of the Eugene Code, <br />1971, is hereby amended to provide: <br />2.964 Elec~t~ns ~- Nomination. <br />~:.5}_ ~ candidate for a city office shall maintain his <br />.~~:.~_.,..._,..~.._._...........w..c.~:,.~.~..,~. <br />or he_r principal place of residency within the city and the <br />area he or she seeks to represent at the time of nomination <br />and throughout his yr her term of office if elected. Removal <br />of an officer's principal residency from the city or from the <br />area he or she represents shall create a vacancy in the office <br />for which elected, to be filled in the manner other vacancies <br />in that of dice are f i~,led. For purposes of this section, prin- <br />cipal place of residency means a residence used more than 500 <br />of the time any residence is occupied by the candidate or offi- <br />cer. <br />Section ~.
