There is no consensus.
We will have no collaborative team, or a team that lacks cohesion. There was no
real discussion of issues, or too many goals ~ like last year. There will be excessive focus on consensus in
our meetings and as a result, we achieve no consensus.

Trust is lost if it doesn’t go well.
The issue of trust is not addressed. We experience anger and lack of
trust and teamwork. We are ridiculed for our work by those that are not here.

We do not strengthen relationships.
We leave without an understanding of how we can work together
effectively and not respect each other and not know this group better. We leave with dysfunctional
relationships and damaged relationships.

There will be a catastrophic meltdown!
We fight and people leave or there is meltdown of the group
resulting in a catastrophic event. People who at the moment get along and respect each other develop
disrespect for each other and shame each other. We have a giant earthquake, City Hall collapses, and we all
die.

THE BEST POSSIBLE OUTCOMES OF THE WORKSHOP:
OUR PURPOSE - WHAT WE DO WANT
(A Summary)

A summary can be created for any collective statement. This is done by taking the first sen-
bold
tence in each paragraph, normally in CAPS, in , underlined, or otherwise highlighted.
This first sentence normally summarizes the intent of the paragraph. It is sometimes neces-
sary to include other statements if they represent a different perception than the first sen-
tence. The summary provides a more focused view of the collective statement. Each of the
statements can be seen as a goal.

1. We believe the best of each other. Our collective behavior serves as a model for our communi-
ty and allows us to successfully address complex challenges.

2. We will be able to do our work better, with enlightenment about each other’s views and less
repetition which equals satisfaction!Relationships are improved and relationships and trust

developed help us achieve our goals.

We have a vision for the community, a clear sense of purpose, a clear focus on priorities and
3.
clarity about our direction. We foster positive outcomes for the community with goals that we

believe will together move our community forward and we will have community support.

We will achieve a list of realistic goals (City goals) that most ~if not all of us~ can support. We
4.
will have the ability as a group to look back on this process when things get off-track.

5. We believe the best in each other.

THE BEST POSSIBLE OUTCOMES OF THE WORKSHOP
OUR PURPOSE - WHAT WE DO WANT

We believe the best of each other.
Openness and increased trust is gained.
