These funds committed by the City and the <br />Agency to the project will be included in the Fiscal Year 2005/2006 <br />budget. <br /> <br />h. Public benefits - The exemption for the direct selection of LCL as the <br />general contractor provides many public benefits, including, but not <br />limited to, cost savings, additional efficiency in constructing the Parking <br />Facility, ensuring the construction is done correctly and by a contractor <br />that has the necessary specialized expertise. <br /> <br />3. If granted, the exemptions will otherwise substantially promote the public interest <br />in a manner that could not be practicably realized by complying with the <br />competitive selection process. Direct procurement of personal services from <br />B&H and authorizing B&H to directly select LCL as the general contractor for <br />the Parking Project, including the Parking Facility, promotes efficiencies and cost <br />savings in the completion of the Parking Project. This would allow the public to <br />more quickly realize and enjoy the attendant revitalization of the development <br />area, as well as benefit from the use of the new Parking Facility within the <br />downtown area and the new Courthouse district. <br /> <br />Resolution - 6 <br />
