Guiding Policies <br />The Committee adopted seven overall policies to <br />guide the future development of the Civic Center. <br />As the Civic Center is likely to be implemented <br />over time, by individual public and non-profit <br />agencies actions~ a common understanding of the <br />goals to be achieved through the Civic Center con- <br />cept will lead to more compatible and consistent <br />public investment decisions. These policies were <br />the basis for developing a graphic representation <br />of the vision of Eugene's Civic Center. <br /> <br />The Next 5reps <br />The MayoFs ad-hoc CMc Facilities Visioning <br />Committee has completed its charge by approv- <br />ing a vision and policy principles to guide the <br />development of Eugene's future Civic Center. <br />The Committee's task was to ~';form a coordinated <br />vision of a Civic Center for Eugene, and recom- <br />mend hoxv that vision could be implemented." <br />This recommendation will be presented to the <br />Eugene City Council on June 16~ 2004. <br /> <br />Once the City Council has reviewed the Commit- <br />tee's recommendation~ the Council will determine <br />what actions on the timing m~d financing of ele- <br />ments of the Civic Center should be hnplemented. <br /> <br />Civic visioning Committee - Report and Recommendations June 2oo4 Pa§e 5 <br /> <br /> <br />
