ATTACHMENT D
Planning Division Work Program Survey Responses

In developing the Planning Division Work Program, a public survey was posted on the Planning
Division web page. The survey was launched on May 22, 2009 and as of June 8, 2009 a total of
62 survey responses have been submitted. A brief summary is provided below and a complete
list of all survey responses has been attached. The survey presented 16 Work Program items
from the draft FY 10 work plan.

The first question asked participants to select the three items they consider most important in
helping the Planning Division promote livability in Eugene. As shown in Figure 1 below, Infill
Compatibility was chosen most frequently, followed by Community Climate and Energy Plan,
Mixed Use Centers and Transportation Plan update. Eugene Comprehensive Lands Assessment,
Neighborhood Action Plans, Economic Development and Comp/Metro Plan update round out
the top half of those chosen.

The second question asked respondents to list other projects that not listed on the work plan
that are central to Eugene’s livability. Promoting alternative transportation including bicycle
and pedestrian planning and EmX expansion was the most common response to this question
with other ideas ranging from peak oil planning to downtown revitalization. These responses
are summarized as listed in Figure 2 below and full text response also attached.

The third and final question asked respondents to list projects that don’t merit priority status.
The Comprehensive Plan / Metro Plan Update, Neighborhood Action Plans, Mixed Use Centers
and Jeffries Metro/Zone change were all mentioned twice. These responses are summarized in
Figure 3 below with full text responses attached at the end.
