Mr. Lawless withdrew the second to the motion. <br />Mr. Hledik, seconded by Mr. Lawless, moved that the Planning <br />Commission recommend that the City Council adopt the amendments to <br />TransPlanand the Metro Plan to move Project 506, Beltline Highway <br />from River Road to Delta Highway, from the “Future” project list to the <br />“Financially Constrained” project list based on the findings of <br />consistency set forth in Attachment A and the evidence and testimony <br />entered into the record. The motion passed unanimously, 6:0. <br />Mr. Hledik, seconded by Mr. Lawless, moved that the Planning <br />Commission recommend that the City Council adopt the amendments to <br />TransPlanand the Metro Plan to move Project 333, West Eleventh <br />Avenue from Greenhill Road to Terry Street, from the “Future” project <br />list to the “Financially Constrained” project list based on the findings of <br />consistency set forth in Attachment A and the evidence and testimony <br />entered into the record. The motion passed 4:2, with Commissioners <br />Beierle, Duncan, Hledik and Lawless voting in favor of the motion, and <br />Commissioners Carroll and Kneeland voting in opposition to the motion. <br />Mr. Carroll thanked Mr. Inerfeld for his work on the project. <br />V. ITEMS FROM COMMISSION AND STAFF <br /> A. Other Items from Staff <br />Ms. Weiss explained staff would be seeking approval from the City Council in the fall for tools <br />that could be used in an opportunity siting pilot program. Staff hoped Planning Commissioners <br />would talk with their Council Buddies regarding incentives similar to the Multi Use Property Tax <br />Exemption (MUPTE) program. There was consensus on the part of commissioners to engage in <br />that dialogue with councilors this summer. <br />Ms. Gardner announced Jan Cabaniss would be retiring from the City on July 17, 2009. Ms. <br />Cabaniss had supported the Planning Commission for over 20 years. <br /> B. Other Items from Commission <br />In response to Mr. Duncan, Ms. Gardner said Commission agendas were currently being sent to <br />commissioners electronically and in paper form. With a straw poll, Commissioners Beierle, <br />Carroll, Kneeland, Lawless wished to continue to receive paper copies, and Commissioners <br />Duncan and Hledik were satisfied with the electronic version. <br />Responding to a question from Mr. Hledik, Ms. Brotherton agreed to check on recent legislative <br />changes to the required periodic reporting for board and commission members. <br />Mr. Duncan reported that the Comprehensive Land Assessment group continued to meet monthly <br />and would complete its work by the end of 2009. <br />Mr. Hledik reported the last Planning Commission meeting coincided with the Airport Master <br />Plan update meeting which focused on land use.
