ATTACHMENT C <br /> <br />Planning & Public Involvement Efforts Summary for Downtown <br /> <br />Since 2000, Council, staff, and the community have engaged in, created, and prioritized various goals, <br />policies, and recommendations for downtown. Staff compiled a summary of the 21 plans, policy <br />documents, or community involvement efforts relevant to a discussion of desired downtown outcomes. <br />The approval or review status and a summary of the key outcomes for each is provided in this attachment, <br />divided into three categories. <br /> <br />Section A summarizes those documents and efforts focused exclusively on downtown. <br />1.Downtown Plan <br /> <br />2.Downtown Code Amendments <br /> <br />3.City Council Goal 2007 & 2008 – Downtown Initiative: Revitalize Downtown <br /> <br />4.City Hall Master Plan <br /> <br />5.West Broadway Advisory Committee Core Recommendations <br /> <br />6.Park Blocks Master Plan <br /> <br />7.Downtown Policing Action Plan Team Short-Term Public Safety Strategy Recommendations 2004 <br /> <br />8.Downtown Urban Renewal Plan <br /> <br />9.Riverfront Urban Renewal Plan <br /> <br />10.Central Area Transportation Study <br /> <br />11.Broadway Street Reopening <br /> <br />12.Broadway Design Standards <br /> <br />13.Courthouse District Concept Plan <br /> <br />14.Downtown Vision <br /> <br /> <br />Section B summarizes those documents and efforts that reference downtown. <br />15.Cultural Policy Review <br /> <br />16.Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Plan <br /> <br />17.Mayor’s Committee on Economic Development <br /> <br /> <br />Section C summarizes overarching Council goals, policies, and values. <br />18.City Council 2009 vision and goals <br /> <br />19.Growth Management Policies <br /> <br />20.Sustainable Business Initiative <br /> <br />21.Joint Elected Officials regional economic development principles <br /> <br /> <br />Some of the documents contain policies adopted by ordinance, such as the Downtown Plan; others contain <br />a list of desired results generated through public or stakeholder involvement and subsequently presented <br />to council, such as the West Broadway Advisory Committee recommendations. All of these planning <br />efforts reiterate common themes and aspirations for a vital, economically healthy, and inviting city center. <br /> <br />
