From:JEROME Emily N
To:HARDING Terri L;
FW: ICS ordinances" effective date
Subject:
Tuesday, November 10, 2009 4:51:08 PM
Date:
Attachments:Conte letter re ICS effective dates 11-10-2009.pdf
Please include the e-mail below and its attachment in the public testimony that
you provide to the City Council. Thanks.
From: Paul Conte [mailto:pconte@picante-soft.com]
Sent: Tuesday, November 10, 2009 4:44 PM
To: *Eugene Mayor and City Council
Cc: JEROME Emily N
Subject: ICS ordinances' effective date
November 10, 2009
Dear Mayor and City Councilors,
Please read the attached letter regarding the proposed ICS ordinances'
effective dates.
While I have the greatest respect for the Assistant City Attorney, I believe
her explanation at last night's Council work session too narrowly focused on
an unlikely and minor risk while significantly increasing a substantial risk to
the City and residents of the affected neighborhoods.
At next week's public hearing, I urge City Council to direct the City
Manager to bring all three ordinances to your December 14 deliberations
without the acknowledgement clause. If a Council majority feels that any of
the ordinances require the acknowledgement clause, it would be a simple
procedural matter to amend the ordinance(s) at that time.
Thank you for your consideration.
Respectfully,
Paul Conte
1461 W. 10th Ave.
Eugene, OR 97402
