campus. It is our belief that campus will continue to grow as more students come to the
University. Because the university is surrounded by neighborhoods and other development, there
is going to be imperative that
campus development be able to go up. These allowances for 90ft buildings in certain areas are
crucial in the long term for achieving the kind of dense development this area is going to need.
Yet this option still provides protection to both south and west university neighborhoods by
limiting height a great deal. Remember the 90 foot allowance is only on the blocks abutting
campus and only on large lots. Most of the sites in the area will not qualify for the 90 foot option
and will be limited to 50, 65 feet depending on the lot and where it is located. All lots abutting
R1 will be reduced to 35 feet. Thus this option provides substantial limitations in height and
protection from the neighborhood. These height restrictions were an enormous compromise for
the development community. Many builders were opposed to any height restrictions when this
process started. Option B was unanimously voted on by the planning commission and was
supported by staff. We ask you to also support this option.
Thanks you,
Ô¿«®¿ ᬬ»®
Ü·®»½¬±® ±º Ù±ª»®²³»²¬ ߺº¿·®
ر³» Þ«·´¼»® ß±½·¿¬·±² ±º Ô¿²» ݱ«²¬§
îðëí Ô¿«®¿ ͬ®»»¬
Ͱ®·²¹º·»´¼ô ÑÎ çéìéé
ëìïóíðîóïìïð
