(a) Except as provided in (c), below, on a street-fronting lot that is not an <br />alley access only lot, the residential building closest to the street shall <br />include a main entrance that meets one of the following conditions: <br />1. Faces the street; or <br />2. Faces the side of the lot and meets all the following conditions: <br />a. The main entrance opening is not more than 8 feet from the <br />building façade facing the street and nearest the street; <br />b. The main entrance includes a covered porch of at least 30 <br />square feet; <br />c. The porch abuts both the façade containing the main entrance <br />and a façade facing the street. <br />(b) Except as provided in (c), below, on corner lots with more than one <br />residential building, all residential buildings shall include a main <br />entrance that meets the requirements of subsection (a). <br />(c) Notwithstanding (a) and (b), above, where three or more dwellings have <br />ground-level entrances on two or more sides of a common courtyard <br />that is open to a street for at least 20 feet, the dwellings’ main entrances <br />(See Figure 9.3625(4)(c)) <br />may face the courtyard. <br />(5) Garage Door Standards. <br />(a) Except for a garage accessed from an alley, only one garage door, with <br />maximum width of 9 feet and maximum height of 8 feet, is allowed within <br />30 feet of any portion of a lot line that abuts a street. <br />(b) For a garage accessed from an alley, one garage door 18 feet wide and <br />8 feet high or 2 garage doors 9 feet wide and 8 feet high, are permitted. <br />(6) Driveway Standards. <br /> In lieu of any conflicting standards in EC 7.410 <br />Driveways – Curb cut, the following standards shall apply: <br />(a) Street Access Driveway Curb Cuts and Width. Driveways that are <br />accessed from a street must meet all the following requirements: <br />1. Except as provided in (7), below, a lot shall have no more than <br />one curb cut on each street that the lot abuts. <br />2. The maximum curb cut width is limited to 14 feet where the <br />driveway abuts the street, and the driveway must taper to no more <br />than 12 feet within 3 feet of the street curb or edge. <br />3. The maximum driveway width for a driveway that accesses a <br />single-car garage is 12 feet. <br />4. No portion of a driveway or parking area shall be wider than 12 <br />feet within 30 feet of any portion of a lot line that abuts a street. <br />5. For a driveway or parking area located within five feet of an <br />existing driveway or parking area on an adjacent property under <br />common ownership or within the same development site, the <br />maximum total width of the two driveways and/or parking areas is <br />18 feet within 30 feet of any portion of a lot line that abuts a street. <br />6. The full width of impermeable surfaces and surfaces with <br />permeable paved surfaces (such as parking areas or walkways) <br />that are within one foot of a driveway shall be included in <br />calculating the driveway width except that one private walkway, no <br />wider than 4 feet within 5 feet of the driveway, may terminate at <br />(See Figure 9.3625(6)(a)6.) <br />the driveway. <br />7. Exception.
