Capital grants and contributions were derived predominantly from grants from the Federal Aviation <br />Administration and the donation of infrastructure stemming from the development of new residential areas <br />Capital assets <br />. The City’s investment in capital assets for its governmental and business-type activities as of June 30, <br />2009 amounted to $631.6 million (net of accumulated depreciation). The investment in capital assets includes land, <br />right-of-ways, construction in progress, buildings and equipment, improvements other than buildings (such as parks and <br />park improvements), storm sewers and trunk sewers (stormwater and wastewater systems), and infrastructure (such as <br />roads and sidewalks). The total increase in the City’s investment in capital assets for the current fiscal year was 1.3%. <br />
