Mr. Pryor opined building flexibility into the process and providing changing variables was
critical to its success. Part of the contentiousness around the process was related to the
assumptions people made about the intent of the process. It was important to be as accurate as
possible with things that required precision. Both the process used and peoples' reaction to the
product were equally important.
Ms. Piercy stressed that the council was dealing with an opportunity to do things differently, to
look into the future and do the best job it could.
The meeting adjourned at 1:32 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Jon Ruiz
City Manager
(Recorded by Linda Henry)
MINUTES Eugene City Council February 24, 2010 Page 6
Work Session
