It is difficult enough for people to pronounce the river and the <br />valley correctly, and this will make matters worse. That may be the way the name of the river was <br />pronounced hundreds of years ago, but it is not the way it is pronounced today. <br />While I agree with naming the bridge something to honor the indigenous people, there must be many <br />other choices that could achieve that goal without <br />Nancy Batchelder <br />Florence Oregon <br /> <br />
