HUMAN RIGHTS PROGRAM <br /> FY 2004 ACTIVITIES AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS <br /> <br /> GENDER IDENTITY WORK GROUP <br /> <br />In its FY04 work plan, the commission committed itself to form a · Implementation of education presentations to PFLAG, <br />gender identity issues work group to focus on community Faith in Action, National Association of Social Workers, <br />education, self-education, networking and local legal protection. Human Rights Support System, Central Services Diversity <br />In November 2003, the Gender Identity Work Group was initiated. Committee <br /> · Contact with superintendents and diversity coordinators of <br />Soon after its inception, the work group formed separate task Eugene 4J and Bethel school districts <br />groups. The Education Task Group develops and delivers <br />presentations on transgender issues and the Networking Task The work group intends to continue to provide education to the <br />Group focuses on media and outreach issues, community as well as network with schools, businesses, and city <br /> programs. Potential projects include discussions with the Eugene <br />Accomplishments of the work group include: Chamber of Commerce and local businesses, education through <br /> · Development of a media packet and plan presentations and media stories, and diversity trainings to City <br /> · Establishment of a team of education facilitators employees.
