She hoped that the council resisted the urge to tax or regulate the private sector for the cost <br />of attaining the vision it set forth. <br /> <br />Ms. Solomon thanked the employees of the City of Eugene employees and expressed appreciation to her <br />husband Mike and her sons Maxwell and Matthew. She thanked the community, saying it had been a <br />wonderful experience and a privilege to serve. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />VI. ADMINISTRATION OF OATHS OF OFFICE <br /> <br />Deputy City Recorder Sandra Stubbs administered the oath of office to Eugene City Councilors Alan <br />Zelenka of Ward 3, George Poling of Ward 4, Mike Clark of Ward 5, and Pat Farr of Ward 6. <br /> <br /> <br />VII. ADMINISTRATION OF OATHS OF OFFICE <br /> <br />Ms. Stubbs administered the oath of office to Eugene Water & Electric Board commissioners John Brown of <br />Wards 4 and 5 and John Simpson, at-large. <br /> <br /> <br />V. AWARDS AND RECOGNITION <br /> <br />Mayor Piercy recognized the following outstanding volunteers. <br /> <br /> Community Awards <br /> <br /> <br /> Envision Eugene Community Resource Group—Rob Bennett, Shawn Boles, Kevin Matthews, <br />Lea Nelson, Sue Prichard, and Rusty Rexius were present on behalf of the Community Re- <br />source Group to receive the award. <br /> <br /> <br /> Courthouse Community Garden—Carmen Ford accepted the award on behalf of Judge Ann Ai- <br />ken and others involved. <br /> <br /> Employee Recognition Awards <br /> <br />Mayor Piercy recognized the following employee teams for their work in 2010. <br /> <br /> <br /> Climate and Energy Action Plan Team—Matt McRae accepted the award on behalf of the staff <br />team. <br /> <br /> Youth and Family Recreation Team—Sandy Schaeffer accepted the award of behalf of the staff <br />team. <br /> <br /> Summer in the City Team—Billie Moser accepted on behalf of the staff team. <br /> <br /> <br />IV.
