Williams. <br /> <br /> Council called to Order, <br /> <br /> The .~;:ayor stated the object of the L'eeting, the written notice <br />of which had been sent to each Councilman, was to re~nove ~Vr. Reisner, <br />City Trea,~]urer from office,~who had and still ref~ses to pay warrants <br /> <br />drawn on him as Treasurer, The ~.~.ayor then offered the following <br />Resolution, to-wit:- ~ <br /> <br /> R E S 0 Y~ U T ~ 0 ~. <br /> <br /> It is hereby resolved by the Common (~ouncil of the City of <br />Eugene a'.~ follows:- <br /> <br /> section 1. <br /> <br /> That Fran~ Refsner be and he is hereby re~noved from the office <br /> <br />of Oit¥ Treasurer of the City of Eugene. <br /> <br /> Section 2. <br /> <br /> The cm~se of his Sal~l re~uoval is as follows:- <br /> <br /> .e has refused and does refuse to i~y warrants legally and <br />regularly drawn on hi~n by the Recorder,of the 0i~y of Eugene not with- <br />standing the fact that at the time said warrants were presented he had <br />funds on hand with which to [ay the sa~e and his action in this rega. rd <br />is arbitrary witho~t any sufficient excuse smd against the will of the <br />Oo~mon Council of ti~e City 'of ~lugene. <br /> <br /> Sect io~ 3. <br /> <br /> It ts necessary for the im~.,~diate preservation of the publ±c <br />peace, health snd safety that this resolution go into effect t~mediately <br />upon being duly ,pas.~ed for the reason that said Frank Reisner has refused <br />and does ref~e to PdY warrants which were duly drawn by the City Record.- <br />er under direction of the Council which warrants were for the pay~r, ent <br />of lands to be used as a right of way for a canal ,which is nece,'~sary <br />for the com~truction of an electrical water power plant, which the City <br />of Eugene is constr~cttng .~ the ~.cKenzie River for the purpose of <br /> <br /> <br />
