Council.met pursuant to adJo~u,r~.ent of January 31, 1913, and was called to order by ~yor Berger. ~ounoilmen present Warnook, Koppe, Bell, Dorr and Striker, absent lfetcalf, Hensill and Be~n. Mr. Striker of the ~ire & Water Committee reported that Robert Velt~ hex~ - asked fo~ permission to install a pt~up on Olive Street. Upon motion by ~,~r. Striker, seconded b~ },er. Warnock permission w~s granted, same to be installed under the direction of the Street Committee~ Motion carried. Mr. Striker mlso repo?ted that the, improvements ordered relative to the Treasurer's and Engineer's Offices and the ~ire Department had been made. Mr. S~riker also reported that he had received the following quotations fo~ hydrants: Gross & Co. $25.00 six months' time Eugene Iron Works gS.00 one year's time and that he h~d placed the order with the Eugene Iron Works. The following members of the fire dep~tment, H. Webe~,~ O. Hendenshott, ~nd ~'. King were placed upon the reg~l~ p~y ~oll at ~ s~l~ of $65.00' pe~ montt~,. _ and tt~e Reeorde~ inst~eted to draw w~rants In pa~ent of thei~ s~laries on the flnst of each and every month. Upon motion by Mr, Striker, seconded by Mr. Dorr the M~yor ~nd Recorder were instructed to sl~ the lease m~e between Gross & Co. and the OiSy of Eugene fo~ the tens of p~$ of the ~oom of the first sto~y of the Blddle Block. Hotion ea~ied. ~¢~. W~noek of, the Street Co~ittee ~ead m eo~unieation f~om the Pontl~nd, E~ene & Nastern ~iE~y Co. relative to havi~ completed the gravelll~ on foss Ave. Report being as follows: "Report of the Stree~ ~o~lttee in regmrd to ~{oss Ave.- We h~ve ex~ined tl~e graveli~ done by the P. E. E, R. R. Uo. ~nd consider it is done in accordance with the agreement ~nd ~eeo~end that the City accept the work, ~n~ to N~.
