Chambers' eXpense. A motion was made, seconded and <br />carried to adopt 'the recon~end~tion of the Sewer Co~muittee <br /> <br /> Ttxe Street Com~nittee by Chairman Hc.~(urphey reco~mnended that the petition for <br /> <br />improvement by gr~velling of the alley between ~{adis0n ~nd l~{om'oe Streets, Block 8, <br /> <br />Huddleston Addition bt granted, and tt~at tt~e 0ity Attorney be instructed to prepmre <br />an 0rdinanoe for gradln~ and [~avel!in4~ said alley. Tl~e reco~muendation was on <br /> <br />motion adopted. <br /> <br />Cottuci]~.an Hensill called attention to the need of a foot bridge across tt%e <br /> <br />~.{ill~'ace on Alder Street. and stat~ed that the .present property ovmer was willing <br /> <br />to give ti~e necessary land. .~atter was referred to tt~e Street Committee. <br /> <br />The Judiciary ¢o~.ittee by Chairman Johnson reported in regard to registra- <br /> <br />tion of voters and ~e~istricting the 0ity for voting purposes ti~st the CoP~ittee <br /> <br />considered best to defer action in this ~.atter until fall and at~ that time to take <br /> <br />the ~n~tte~ up with ti~e County Court. <br /> <br />A petition for p~ving Monroe Street fro~ 0th to llth Avenues and reCo~nenda- <br /> <br />tion from tile .Street Co~nittee that the petition be granted ~nd the City Attorney <br /> <br />p~,ep~re the Ordinance and the City Engineer prepare ple, ns ~nd specific~tions therefo~ <br />was on motion adopted, <br /> <br />A petition to pave Alder Street from the Millrace south to llti~ Avenue was <br /> <br />referred to the Street Co~ttee. <br /> <br />Reques~ of ~{rs~. ;~. 0., Gilstrap fez· c~nce!l~tion of assessment ~nder ~rdinance <br /> <br />No. 1289 sgalnst Lot 17, Block-27, Fairmount Heights Addition was presente4 ~and s <br />motion wGs resale, seconded 6nd c~rried thst the Recorder cancel this assessment on <br /> <br />tixe 4ien Docket. ~And the E~J~ineer and 0ity Attorney t~sving stated th. at the <br /> <br />property should not i~ve been assessed it appearing that the 01turk & He. nery Con- <br /> <br />struction Co. had p~ved beyond the li~aits p~_,ovided by their contract, the matter of <br /> <br />~djustment. for the m~0~xt over.paid to them wms referred to the City Attorney, <br /> <br /> <br />
