The ayes ~nd nays were called,' Cmmeilmen voting gye~- l{en,~']o~.l, Johnson <br /> <br />t(oppe, },,(c~,~urphey, Dor~, Bell, Bean anti-Striker, nay none. <br /> <br />Hotion was declared <br /> <br />carried and so ordered. <br /> <br /> Counci!~aan Bean ~oved that tire Recorder be in,~truoted to accept no bills for <br />payment at the ensuing pa'y day ~u~less ~i..ed not l~ter than the 5th day of the <br /> <br />montt~, and that no bills be accepted by ti~e Recorder unless accompanied by requisition. <br /> <br />The motion was secon~ted and carried. <br /> <br /> A petition req.uesting the Council to ~make permanent the system of lighting <br /> <br />installed in tile East_and ~'~est Parks during the Carnival week and to provide for <br />keeping the sane ligi~ted was referred to the Fire & Water Cm~mittee. <br /> <br />CotmeiL~..an Striker :,,oved that all employees of the City who had been in employ- <br /> <br />nent less tilan one year and over 8 months be allowed one week's vacation on pay. <br /> <br />was seconded and being put was lost.
