Presen~ Councilmen Johnson, NoI~urphey, Doff, Be~n and <br /> <br />Beytien; absent Hensill, Eoppe and Bell. <br /> <br /> Communication and e~sement gr~nting to the City the right to open <br /> <br />Van Buren Street across the Southern~Paeifio right-of-way referred to the City <br /> <br />Attorney and Street Committee. <br /> <br />A remonstrance against the paving of Alder Street from 13th Street to <br /> <br />City Limits referred to the Street Co~uittee. <br /> <br /> Bill of W. S. !~oon for services as registration clerk $~85.00 p~esented, <br /> <br />and ~ motion made and seconded to tallow the s~e. The ~yes 6nd nays were esl!- <br />ed; Couneilz~en voting ,aye Johnson, ~cl~urphey, Doff, Bean and Beytien, nay none, <br /> <br /> was d~elared carried ~nd so ordered. <br />absent <br /> Hensill, <br /> Koppe <br /> a~d <br /> Bell. <br /> l~otion <br /> <br /> Co~u~cilm~n t~o~urphe~ stated that the M~yor ~nd street ~o~uittee h~d held <br /> <br />~ meeting with mll the property owners on Hilyard street and that as a result <br />of the discussion the property ~vners had asked the Co:mmittee to recom~end the <br />i mw~rding of the contract, to Cl~rk & Henery Construction Co. for the pavement of <br />~ s~id street. Counoilm.~n ~cl~urphey moved that the Council now finds ~nd de- <br /> <br /> termines that the r~onstranee filed on said Street does not contain m ~.~Jority~ <br /> <br />~ of the Property or property owners on said street and that the sane be denied. <br />t~otion seconded end carried. Nr. l~e~lurphey then moved that the Council now <br /> <br />finds and deter~ines that the bid of ti~e Cl~rk & Henery Const~etion Co. for the <br /> <br />paving of Hilyard Street fro~. 9th to llth Avenues ia the lowest and best bid <br />s~id work ~nd that the Council now award the contract to said Company in accord- <br />ance with it~ bid, and that the t~yor ~nd Recorder enter into a contract in be- <br />half of the City, and that the ~_ayor be ~uthorlzed to receive and approve the <br />bond, ~nd that all other bids be rejected and checks returned to unsuccessful <br />bidders.
