NAY <br /> <br />in the alley between Agate Street and Emerald Street was read and passed its <br />second and third readir~s by title under suspension of the rule and was plac- <br />ed upon its final passage. Counci]3aen voting &ye 8, nay none. <br />The 0rdina~ice was declmred passed and n~unbered <br /> <br /> ~h~ Ordinance to formulate irregular v~i~-ing in or on buildir~,s, signs, <br /> <br />awni.~s and ~dditions to any buildi~s, to regulate outside wiring on build- <br /> <br />ings or in conduits v~nieh may be located on public streets or alleys all with- <br /> <br />in the limits of the City of E~u~ene, and repealir~ Ordinance ~o. 1383, and <br /> <br />providing a penalty, which Ordinance w~s heretofore read the first and se- <br /> <br />tend. readings, was presented l~aving been re-drafted and embodying ~en~buents <br />to the original Ordinance, and a ~otion was made, seconded and carried that <br />the amen~bments be ado'pted by the Council and the Ordinance continued for tt~e <br /> <br />third reading. <br /> <br /> ~(otion was made, secor~led and ca~ried that tt~e original construction <br />bond furnished by the Warren ~onstruction Co. in co~Luection with the paving <br />of Oak Street from 5th to '~th Avenues be released. <br /> <br />Bids for the p~ving cE Tenth Avenue E~st from Pearl Street to Mill <br /> <br />Street were opened and read and t~aving been considered by the Street Co~.itte~ <br />Co~mcilman Mc~{~phey moved that the COuncil now finds and determines that the <br />bid of the Clark & Henery Construction Co. for tt~e paving of said Tonti~ Avon- <br /> <br />ue is the lowest and best bid tt~erefor, and that ti~e Council now awards the <br /> <br />contract for said work to said Clark & Henery Construction Co. in accordance <br />with its bid, and that the .~.~ayor and Recorder be instructed~ to sig~n the con- <br />tract on behalf of t~e City, ~nd that the !~Iayor be authorized to accept the <br /> <br />bond to be fur~tished with said contract, and that the bid of ~Ambrose-Burdsal <br />CO. be rejected and their certified check ret~ned. ~.~otion was seconded <br /> <br />and carried. <br /> <br /> Bids were opened ~nd'read for the construction of m sewer 9etwe~n 6th <br />and Vth Avenues from Van Buren Street to Polk Street and considered by'the <br /> <br />Sewer Committee, and Ch~irm~n Bell moved that the Council now finds Gnd de- <br />termines that the bid of C. H. ).~hany is the lowest and best bid fo~, the con- <br />struction of said sewer, and that the 6oUncil awards the contract to l~im in <br /> <br />accordance with his bid, and th~at the 2~myor and Recorder enter into said cor~- <br />tract for the City, and that the ~{ayor be authorized to accept his bond when <br /> <br />furnished, and that all other bids be rejected and deposit ci~ecks returned to <br />unsuccessful bidders. !~{otion was' seconded, and ca,tied. <br /> <br /> <br />
