JULY 13, 1911~. <br /> <br />ment of ttle City's relations with tt~e ?ortls~d, Eugene & Eastern Railroad. <br /> <br />The gentlemen were asstu-ed that ttle Mayor and Council felt the cozied, on interest <br />of all the citizens in this matter and that the same would l~ave a full and <br /> <br />careful consideration. <br /> <br /> The ~equest of the Union 0il Co. for permission~ to l~y ~ two incl~ <br />water main in the parkl~ on Blair Boulevard from Tltird to First Avenues <br />referred to the Street Committee with p~¢er to act. <br /> <br /> Bids for tt~e construction of a sewe~ between Second snd Third Avenues <br />from Horace Street to Trunk Sewer were opened and re~d. Chairman Bell of the <br />Sewer Co~.~ittee moved that the Council now finds and determines that the bid of <br />Ole Soleim for the construction of said sewer is, the lowest and best bid, and <br />that the contract be ~warded to him in accordance therefor, and tt~at the }&ayor <br /> <br />and Recorder execute the contract in behalf of the City, it being tmderstood that <br /> <br />tl~e contractor shall use concrete sewer pipe for said sewer. Motion was second- <br /> <br />ed and carried. <br /> <br />Bids for tile construction of a sewer between Washir~,ton and Jefferson <br /> <br />Streets from Ninteenth to T~venty-second Avenues were opened and read. OD~i~min <br />Bell of the Sewer Committee moved that the Council now finds and determines that <br />the bid of Hall & Solelm for tt~e construction of Said sewer is the lowest and best <br />bid, anQ that the contract be awarded to them i~ accordance therefor, and that <br />tt~e Mayor ~d Recorder execute the contract in be~lf of the 0ity, it being <br />understood t~t the contracto~ shall use concrete sewer pipe for said s~,~er. <br />Motion was seconded ~d ea~ried. <br /> <br /> Bids for the g~a~ and g~avel!i~ of Ad~s Street f~om Eleventl~ to <br />Thirteenttx Avenues were opened and read, and Chal~nan Mc~phey of the Street <br />Coati,tee moved that the Council finds and de,ermines tha~ the bid of $i~e ~gene <br />Sand & Gravel Co. is t~e lowest and best bid tl~erefor, ~n(l that the Council awa~ <br />the contract to s~id Compm~ in accordance with its bid, and t~t the Mayor and <br />Reoorde~ be authorized to si~ the s~e on behalf of the Oity. Motion was <br />seconded and ea~ied. <br /> <br /> The'bid of the Olark & Henery Construction Co. for the paving of High <br />Street from Eleventh to Thirteenth Avenues being the only bid received was <br />opened and read and referred to the Street Co~mittee. <br /> <br /> Motion was made, seconded and carried that the Council do nm~ adjourn <br />to meet July 20, 191~, at 7$50'o'elock <br /> <br /> <br />
