WilliamHenp¥, ~ member of the Co~monCouncll of the City of Ekugene, died at his home in this City on the 6tit day of September, 191%, ami VM{EREAS, Willi~.~ }{emp¥ .was a~capable, faithi%~l, honest and conscien- tious city official, ~lv;~ys endeavoring to perform his duties according to the dictates of his conscience and ~in every way ttu~ bes~ subserved tt~e interests of the City of hk~gene, and in the perform.~nee of his duties as a council m~n of this City~ l~e was active and energetic;~ he was alv~ays considerate of tl~e opinions of other members of tt~e Council, while he always was firm in his ova belief, yet Ixe was broad enottgjx to concede to other members of the Council, their opinion as to matters pending before that body. NOW, ~ERF2DRE, BE IT ~4VED that in the death of o%~ brother council~ man a vacancy has been created wt~ict~ v~ll be difficult to fill and his loss to the 0ity both as an official and as a citizen, is profotmdly felt. BE IT RESOLVED that we extend to the bereaved famil~ our heartfelt sympatl~ in ftys, thei~ hour of mo%~ningand tmibulation, and BE IT FURTI{Et~ RESOLVED that a copy of these resolutions be spread upon the recoils of the Council, a copy fu~nished to the bereaved family and a copy furnished to each of the newspapers of this City. Resolution providing sleeping quarters fo~ "Call Hen" for the fire department was read and on motion adopted.. A Resolution declm, ing the intention of the Council to open and extend Tyler Street from the l{orth line of Wallis-Dor~is Addition to the South line of Foui, th Avenue, and directing the City Engineer to make and file plat and dese~ip- tion was read. Motion was made, seconded and carried to adopt same.
