Hempy were read <br /> <br />and adopted by ~ising vote of the entire Council, <br />being as follows: <br /> <br />YfHE~, <br /> <br />The Resolutions ~s adopted <br /> <br /> RE~0LUT!0NS 0F C01FDOD~{OE. <br /> <br />WilliamHenp¥, ~ member of the Co~monCouncll of the City of <br /> <br />Ekugene, died at his home in this City on the 6tit day of September, 191%, ami <br /> <br /> VM{EREAS, Willi~.~ }{emp¥ .was a~capable, faithi%~l, honest and conscien- <br />tious city official, ~lv;~ys endeavoring to perform his duties according to the <br /> <br />dictates of his conscience and ~in every way ttu~ bes~ subserved tt~e interests <br />of the City of hk~gene, and in the perform.~nee of his duties as a council m~n <br /> <br />of this City~ l~e was active and energetic;~ he was alv~ays considerate of tl~e <br />opinions of other members of tt~e Council, while he always was firm in his ova <br /> <br />belief, yet Ixe was broad enottgjx to concede to other members of the Council, <br />their opinion as to matters pending before that body. <br /> <br />NOW, ~ERF2DRE, BE IT ~4VED that in the death of o%~ brother council~ <br /> <br />man a vacancy has been created wt~ict~ v~ll be difficult to fill and his loss to <br />the 0ity both as an official and as a citizen, is profotmdly felt. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED that we extend to the bereaved famil~ our heartfelt <br />sympatl~ in ftys, thei~ hour of mo%~ningand tmibulation, and <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTI{Et~ RESOLVED that a copy of these resolutions be spread upon <br />the recoils of the Council, a copy fu~nished to the bereaved family and a copy <br /> <br />furnished to each of the newspapers of this City. <br /> <br /> Resolution providing sleeping quarters fo~ "Call Hen" for the fire <br />department was read and on motion adopted.. <br /> <br /> A Resolution declm, ing the intention of the Council to open and extend <br />Tyler Street from the l{orth line of Wallis-Dor~is Addition to the South line of <br />Foui, th Avenue, and directing the City Engineer to make and file plat and dese~ip- <br /> <br />tion was read. <br /> <br />Motion was made, seconded and carried to adopt same. <br /> <br /> <br />
