E%ter had si&a~ed a waiver of <br />all matters relating to the eonstm~ction of a sidewalk as provided by Ordinance <br /> <br />No. 16HS, and moved that the Street qommittee be authorized to let a cQntract <br />for the construction of said sidewalk~ Motionseconded and carried. <br /> <br />On motion the Council adjourned. <br /> <br /> NOVEm3~ 9, 191W. <br /> <br /> Council Chambers, Eugene, Oregon, November 9, 191k. <br /> <br /> Oounoil met in regular monthly session, and was called to order by <br /> Nayo~ Yoran. Present Councilmen Johnson, Parks, ~oEurphey,.Bell, Devereaux, <br /> and Beytien; absent Bogue and Goodpastu~e. <br /> <br /> The minutes of Council proceedings of October 12th, 13th, 19th, 26th, <br /> 27th, 28th and November 2nd were read and approved. <br /> <br /> Oh~irman Johnson of the Pire & Water Committee recommended that a <br />street light be installed at the intersection'of Tenth Avenue and Tyler St=eet. <br />On motion the.recommendation was.~dopted. <br /> <br /> The Committee also recommended that the City purchase a new engine for <br />~he auto fire engine, and Councilman Devereaux moved that the City Buy a new <br />engine complete and do not attempt to repair the old one. Eotion was seconded <br />and carried. <br /> <br /> ~otion w~s ma~e, seconded and carried that the Pire & Water Oommittee <br />be instructed to buy a new engine from the Nott Fire Engine Co. if the Company <br />will give a proper guarantee. <br /> <br /> The ~inanee Committee by Chairman Devereaux reported bills as follows: <br /> <br />~rank Reisner $, .25 <br />M. 4.
