Present Councilmen Johnson, Parks, McMurphey, Bogue, <br /> Bell, Devereaux and Beytien; absent Goodpast~e. <br /> <br /> Petition of various owners of transfer wagons and automobiles requesting <br /> return of unearned portion of license fees collected in 1911 and 1912 was. pre- <br /> sented by R. S. Hamilton, Attorney, mnd referred to the Judiciary Con~ittee. <br /> <br /> On request from property owners for se&~regation of assessments or~ East <br />Ninth Avenue assessed under Ordinance l~o.- 1653, upon report of segregation made <br />by the ei~y Engineer motion was made, seconded and carried that the assessment <br />levied in the name of Thomas J. l~cCubbins, in the total sum of ~62W.68 be segre- <br />gated as follows: against the West 50 feet of Lot ll and the ¥~est 50 feet of <br />the l{orth half of Lot 12 in Patterson's Addition ~he Council finds there is due <br />under said asses'3ment a total sum of $1~W.63 which should be assessed against <br />W. W. Stevens, and against said Lot ll and the North half of said Lot 12, ex- <br />cepting the portion thereof segregated as belonging to W. W. Stevens that there <br />is due the sum of $1130.05 which should be assessed agains~ Thomas J. EcCubbins, <br />and that payment of the said amount due again~.t either of s~id portions shall <br />be deemed complete satisfaction of the lien against said portion of property. <br />Motion was made, seconded and carried that the Council finds that of the total <br />assessment of $703.76 levied against hot 2 in ~'ractional Block "B", Eullig~n's <br />Addition, and Fractional Lot 6 in )¥actioual Block l, Ellsworth's Addition to <br />Eugene, that the ~ount due against the West half of said described parcel of <br />land is the s~ of $351.88, and that the amo~u~t due against the East 'half of <br />said East parcel of land is the sum of $351.88, and that payment of said sum <br />as to either half.of said parcel of land shall be deemed as full satisfaction <br />of assessment against the same and release of any lien by reason of said <br />assessment fo~ said street improvement. <br /> <br /> In the matter of the opening and. extension of Seventeenth Avenue East <br />from Oak Street to Willamette Street due notice having been given with consid- <br />eration of report of viewers, at this time the same was considered by the <br />0ouncil together with written objections by Margaret I. Bilyeu, Celia Dunn and <br />Sarah Patterson, and oral objections of A. I~. Houghton, b. Bilyeu and George <br />A. Dorris. Motion was made, seconded and carried that the report of viewers <br />be referred back to them for the reason that some of the property assessed has <br />been assessed in a lump sum instead of the s~m being segregated upon the <br /> <br /> <br />
