Council Chambers, Eugene, Oregon, December 9, 191l~; <br /> <br /> Council met at ~ o'clock P. N., ptu-suant to adjournment of December 7th, <br /> ~nd was called to order by ~{~yor Yoran. Present Cotu~cilmen Johnson, Parks, <br /> ~cMt~rphey, Bogue, Bell, Devereaux and Beytien; absent Goodpasture. <br /> <br /> Couneilm~n Devereaux moved that it is the sense of the Council that in <br /> <br />the matter of property now being advertised for s~le for delinquent assessments <br />· that in a'll cases v~nere the property owner will pay the accrued interest ~nd make <br /> <br /> a substantial p~yment on the principal and pay the cost of ~dvertising that the <br /> <br />pa~ent of the balance be extended for m reasonable time, and t]u~t the l~arshal in <br />suct~ cases sl~ll not proceed with the sale. Motion was seconded and the ayes <br /> <br />and nays were called; Councilmen voting aye 6, nay Bogue, absent GoodpastUre. <br /> <br />Motion was declared carried and so ordered. <br /> <br /> }~otion was made that the i,'inance CoLmnittee be authorized by the Co~nacil <br /> <br />to proceed in the matter oF collection of delinquent assessments, unless delin- <br /> <br />quent debtors pay all intereast due. and a partial payment on the principal amount <br />due.; it being understood that this applies only to the old assessments accruing <br /> <br />to the Improvement Sinking t,~nd, and that it does not apply to bonded assessments <br /> <br />!~otion was secOnded and carried. <br /> <br />~otion was made, seconded and c~rried that the City Treasurer be in- <br /> <br />strutted to call $2,000 of Series "E" Improvement Bonds, and $2,000 of Series <br /> <br />Improve~ent Bonds' out of the money on hand in these funds. <br /> <br /> An Ordinance providing for the construction of a cement sidewalk on the <br />property described in Section i of this Ordinance, said property abutti~ugthe <br />property of H. C. Galey and being in the City of Eugene, Lane County, Oregon, was <br />read and passed its second ~nd third re~dings by title under suspension of the <br />rule, and w~s placed upon its final passage. Councilmen voting aye 7, n~y none, <br />absent Goodpasture. The 0rdinanee was declared passed ~nd numbered #166~. <br /> <br /> On motion the Council adjourned. <br /> <br />City Recorder. <br /> <br /> <br />
