COUNCIL OPTIONS
The council has the following options:
1. Continue the City's participation at its current levels;
2. Decline to provide additional resources toward Region 2050 planning activities; or
3. Identify fewer, specific issues for which the City will continue participation in regional problem
solving.

CITY MANAGER'S RECOMMENDATION
The City Manager recommends taking Option 1 and continuing with the discussions that are currently
underway until further information about the future of Region 2050 can be understood from the
discussions occurring with the state. In addition, the City Manager would recommend that the council
provide Councilor Kelly, the City's representative to the Region 2050 Policy Advisory Board with:
1. Comments on the draft strategy, particularly related to Eugene, to take back to the Policy Advisory
Board;
2. Feedback about the proposed Regional Growth Concept map for Eugene, including potential
conditions (e.g., population, density) to consider UGB alterations; and
3. Feedback on the value of dealing at a regional level with some or all of the Seven Key Areas listed
on the first page of this AlS.

SUGGESTED MOTION
Move to direct the City Manager to continue the City's participation at its current levels and monitor the
discussions with the State about the future of the Region 2050 project.

ATTACHMENTS
A.
