and carried to adopt the recon~lendation. <br /> <br />l~ot.[on was made, seconded and carried that tt~e Council adjo~n to. <br /> <br />meet January 3, 1-916, at 7:30 o'clock P. 14. <br /> <br /> JANUARY 3, 1916~ <br /> <br /> Council 0t~ambers, Eugene, Oregon, January 3, 1916. <br /> <br /> Council met pursuant to adjournment of December 27th, and was c~lled <br /> <br /> to order by Nayo~ Bell.~ Present Councilmen Parks, Koppe, Peterson, Devereaux, <br /> Goodpasture and Quimby; absent Polders and Nosher. <br /> <br /> Report of the Street Committee recommending ~hat all of the objections <br />interposed in the matter of the assessment of Alder Street paving from Thirteenth <br />Avenue to ~ity Limits be overruled, and the Ordinance adopttd was read, and a <br />motion was made, seconded and carried to adopt the recommendation of the <br />Co~m~tttee. <br /> <br /> An Ordinance levying assess~'~ents for the improvement of Alder Street <br />from Thirteenth Avenue south to the City Limits of the City of Eugene was <br />read the third time and declared upon its final passage. The ayes and nays <br />were called; Councilmen voting aye 6, nay none, absent Polders and Mosher. <br />The Ordinance was declared passed and nUmbered #1826. <br /> <br /> The Fire & Water Committee'reported adversely on the petitions for <br />street lights at lYth and Olive Streets, at 1Vth and Oharnelton Streets and at <br />First and Madison Streets, and also on Eighth Avenue at Tyler Street and <br />Taylor Street, and further reported that the Committee would disallow and re- <br />Ject any and all petitions for further street lights on account of lack of <br />funds. Motion was made, seconded and carried to mdopt the reco~aendation. <br /> <br /> A report from W. D. Cheshire, ~ity Health Officer, was read and placed <br /> <br />on file. <br /> <br />A Resolution directing the Recorder to publish a notice to property <br /> <br /> <br />
