Motion was made, seconded and carried to adopt the Resolution. At this time Mayor Yoran delivered his farewell address to the Conncil, and the same was placed on file. ~yor elect W. A. Bell was then duly ~orn as Mayor of the City; Ex-Hayor Yoran retirinj~, and Mayor Bell ass~aing charge of the meeting and read his inaugu~al message to the Council. At this time a protest of E. E. Quimby against the seating of Councilman elect C. A. Burden was presented to the Council. City Attorney ~oster advised that the finding of the Canvasstng Board and the issuance by the Recorder of a certificate of election to ~. Burden established a prima facie right to seat the Councilman elect, and that in his opinion there was nothing to prevent the swearing in of ~Av. Burden as Councilman. C. 0 Peterson, S. R. Mosher At this time ~ouneilm~n elect W. Polders, . and C. A. Burden, and Treasurer elect F. G. Stlekels were each duly sworn to perform the duties of his office, and the Councilmen took their seat in Council.
