<br /> Council Chambers, Eugene, Oregon, February 19, 1917.

<br /> Council met pursuant to adjournment of February 13th, and.was called
<br />
<br />to order by Mayor Bell. Present Councilmen Polders, Parks, Peterson, Koppe,
<br />MoSher, Devereaux and Goodpasture; absent Quimby.
<br />
<br /> City Engineer, H. D. Forneri, ter~iered his resignation to take effect
<br />the 9th Of April, lglT. Motion was made, seconded and carried that the
<br />resignation Be accepted.
<br />
<br />Bill of H. D. t~orneri for equipment of engineering fixtures furnished by
<br />him, amounting to $63.26, was referred to the Finance Co~qittee for investi-
<br />gation.
<br />
<br /> An Ordinance granting to the Southern Pacific Co., its Lessees and
<br />Assigns, a franchise for a fo~u- inch pipe line on Polk Street was read the
<br />Second time, and a notice of the consideration of this proposed franchise
<br />having been given by publication in a newspaper by publication over a period
<br />of three successive weeks, objections to the passage of said Ordinance'were
<br />called for and none offered, and a motion was made, seconded and carried
<br />amending said Ordinance in conformity with the report of the Street Com~aittee,
<br />and the Ordinance as amended was read the third time and placed upon its final
<br />passage. The ayes and nays were called; Councilmen voting aye 7, nay none,
<br />absent Quimby. The Ordinance was declared passed and numbered #1897.

<br /> Bids for the purchase of $W,750.00 Improvement Bonds were opened and
<br />read, ~nd Councilman Polders moved that the Council finds and determines
<br />that the bid of Morris Bros. for the purchase of said bonds is the lowest
<br />and best bid, and that the sale of said bonds be awarded to them in accordance
<br />with the terms of their bid, and all other bids be rejected and checks
<br />turned to unsuccessful bidders. ~aid bid being as follows:
