Council Chambers, Eugene, Oregon, Maroh 12, 1917. <br /> <br /> Council met in re(~lar monthly session and was called to order by <br />l~yor Bell. Present Councilmen Polders, Peterson, Koppe, Nosher, Devereaux, <br />Quimby and Goodpasture; absent Parks, <br /> <br /> Minutes of Council proceedings of Febr%mry 3rd and 19th were read and <br />app~oved. <br /> <br /> Report of Bertha Dorris for the Department of Public Safety for six <br />months ending ~areh 1st were read, together with her resignation from the <br />Department. The report was placed on file, and a motion was made, seconded <br />and carried to accept the ~esignation. <br /> <br /> ~{a¥or Bell announced the appoint~ent of Mrs. Mollie Ady as head of <br />this De~rtment to fill the unexpired term. Counci~nan Petevson ~uoved that <br />the appointment be confirmed by the Council, and %hat her salary be fixed at <br />~j~50.00 pe~- month, oom~encing ~{areh 13t}}~ ~{otion was seconded by Councilman <br />Deverea~ and the ~yes and nays were called. Couucilmen voting aye 7, r~¥ <br />none; absent Pa~'k~. Motion was declared earPied and so o~dered. <br /> <br /> Repo~,t of the Bull(ting Inspector fo~ the month of February was <br /> <br />read and filed. <br /> <br /> The Reco~de~ presented a claim of t{. B. Auppex, le theft the e×eess dirt <br />on the sewer fill at 19th and 0~'chard Streets adjacent to his propePty had <br />nos been taken care of bM the City, that he had hauled 26 loads for which he <br />asked to be relmbu~,sed, and claimed tD~t there was about that much more which <br />should be removed. Matter was referred to the Street Co,.nmittee. <br /> <br /> An Ordinance to amend Section 12 of 0vdinanc~ No. 1828 relating to <br />$~;~ffic, was read and passed its second and third readings by title under <br />suspension of the rule and was placed upon its fim~l passage. Councilmen <br />voting aye 7, nay none, absent Pa~,ks.
