The ayes and nays were called; Councilmen voting <br />aye 7, ~Y none, absent Parks. Motion was declared ear,led and so o~de~ed. <br /> <br /> Retiring Oity Engineer I{. D. Forneri expressed his appreciation to <br />the Council for courtesies extended to him during his tenure of Office. <br /> <br /> ~otion was made, seconded and carried that the Council adjourn to <br />meet March 19, 1917, at 7:30 o'clock P. M. <br /> <br /> MARC]{ 19, 1917. <br /> <br /> Council 0hambers, Eugene, Oregon, March lg, 1917. <br /> <br /> Council met ptu, st~nt to adjournment of March 12th, and was called <br /> <br />to order by Mayor Bell. Present Councilmen Polders, Parks, Peterson, Mosher, <br />Deverea~x, Quimby and Goodpasture; absent Koppe. <br /> <br /> Resignation of 0tlc Hendershott, Assistant Chief of the Fire Department, <br />to take effect April 1st was read, and on motion accepted. <br /> <br /> Application of James be Nettleton for a position as fireman was <br /> <br />ordered placed on file. <br /> <br /> Report of the Eugene Wate~ Board on municipal utilities for the six <br /> <br />months ending December 12, 1916, was presented and ordered placed on file. <br /> <br /> Ladles represenbing the Fortnightly Olub, Charity Club and Womens Auxiliary <br />appeared before the Council and expressed their appreciation for the appointment <br />of ~[vs. Mollie Ady as Police Matron of the City, and Mayor Bell thanked them <br />on behalf of the Council for the interest they had shown in this matter. <br /> <br /> Mr. Nike Gross, representing the Municipal Band, asked permission to <br /> <br />give Sunday concerts from 3 to 5 P.M. The request was referred to the <br /> <br /> <br />
