JULY 9, 1917. <br />Motion was made and seconded that said bills be allowed and warrants drawn <br /> <br />in payment of the same. The ayes and nays were called; Councilmen voting <br /> <br />aye 6, nay none, absent Polders and Koppe. <br />and so ordered. <br /> <br />Motion was declared carried <br /> <br />0ouncilm~n Goodp~sture, Chairman of the Street Conuaittee, reported <br /> <br />that there is no oil on hand for oiling the streets, and the m~tter was left <br />in the hands of the Street Committee to do wh~t they think best in this matter. <br /> <br />On motion the Council adjourned. <br /> <br />Acting City Recorder. <br /> <br /> Council Chambers, Eugene, Oregon, August 15, 1917. <br /> <br /> Council met in regular monthly session and was called to order by <br /> <br />Mayor Peterson. Present Councilmen Parks, Koppe, Spencer, Mosher and <br /> <br />Goodpasture; absent Polders, Deve~eaux and Spangler. <br /> Minutes of July gth were read and approve~. <br /> <br /> The Judiciary Committee recommended the allowance of $196.50 to ~. <br /> <br />and Nfs. R. C. Sheppard in full settlement of their claim of damages, upon re- <br />ceipt of a proper release. Motion was made and seconded that the recom~eudation <br />be adopted, and a warrant drawn on the General Ftmd in payment of same. <br />The ayes and nays were ealled;~ Councilmen voting ~ye 5, nay none, absent <br />Polders, Devereaux and Spangler. Motion was declared carried and so ordered. <br /> <br /> Report of the Building Inspector for the month of July was read <br /> <br />and filed. <br /> <br /> Tt~e ~lty Attorney reported that the terms of the bond of the Portland, <br />Eugene & F~stern Railway cO., given for the replacement of pavement on <br />streets opened for the construction of street car t~acks, had been complied <br />with, and recommended that the bo~d be released as requested by the Southern <br />Pacific Co., its successors, and a Resolution was read releasing Portland, <br />Eugene & Eastern Railway Co., Southern Pacific Co., and sureties, ~. W. <br />Waters and A. Welch, and surrendering the said bond. Motion was made, <br />seconded and carried,to adopt the Resolution. <br /> <br /> <br />
