Cotmci]~en voting aye ~, nay none~ absent 1. <br /> <br />The ordinance was declared passed ~nd numbered ~1699. <br /> <br />Bids for the grading of tfigtt Street from Fotu*tit to Fifth Avenues <br /> <br />were opened ~nd read at this time. No bids were received for the paving of <br /> <br />said street. ~ouncilman McMurphey moved that the Cmmeil finds and determines <br /> <br />that tlte bid of the Ektg, ene Sand & Gravel Co. for the gradir~ of said street at <br /> <br />a price of ~ ~- cents per cubic yard is the lowest, and best bid for said work, <br /> <br />and that the Council award the contract to said Company in ,accordance with its <br />bid, and that the Hayor and Recorder be instructed to enter into the contract <br /> <br />for the City. <br /> <br />A report of the Health CoP~ittee reciting the amicable adjustment of <br /> <br />the controversy between the Health 0ffieer and Physician,~ of the City was read <br /> <br />and placed on file. <br /> <br />Councilman Parks reported that all of the trash cans except one had <br /> <br />been removed from Willamette Street and tho,.tight .that the~e are necessary and <br /> <br />should be re-placed.
