Winthrop C~ Hall appeared before the Counel~ asking for a fr~ehise for himself, successor's, lessees m~l assigns to construct, operate and maintain an dustry spur track upon and across V~ Bureu Street end a certain unnmned Street or High -~ay, which runs parellel,'tu Orego~ ~d California Railway Company's Might of Way on the Southerly side thereof being East of V~ huron Street ~d North of Second Street in the City of ~gene, Oregon, . On motion, the franchise was g~t~d. ~ Ordinance authorizing Winthrop C. Hall of ~gene hl~ successors, ~lessees and assigns,, to construct, operate and maintain ~ industry spur track upon end V~ huron Street and, a certain unn~ed Street or Rlg~wa~ which ru~s parallel te Or~ go~ and California Rallro~ Company's Night of Way on the S~uther~y side thereof, being east of Va~ Buren Street ~d North of Second Street In the City cf ~gene, -gert wa~ ~ead the f~rst time ~d passed its secmld ~d third ~e~ing by title by un- ~lmous consent.under su~oenslon of the rule ~d was placed upua its flDa~ ~assage. The Ordinance was deglared passed ~d numbered 2~42. ~ · ~ Ordlnsnee levying assessments f~r the construction of a sewer ~n Bm~levard in the Cityof ~gene, Oregon having been re~ the first time J~u~ry 1922, and some having been considered at a 2ouncil meeting J~uary 30th~ 1~22, the time set for hearing objections thereto, ~d s~e at said meeting having been referred to the City Attorney, O. H. Foster and furthe~ consideration of the Ordinance post- poned until the next meeting this being the next council meeting thereafter. Said Ordinance was considered and continued'in the hand~ of the City Attorney until next Council meeting. Mr. ~' Voght appeare~l before t~e'Ceuneil stating that he desires to erect a residence o~ the South side ef 6th. Avenue West between Olive~ e~d Charnelto~ Streets, the some being with~ the fire limits ef ~gene and ~sk~ for a'speci,~l pe~it to ~. reef the ~esidence. Upon motion, a special pe~lt was grated. ~rl~ten petition was presented, to the City Council asking the paving Street between 8th ~d ~th Avenue East. The matter was referred t~ the Street Com- ml~ee to Investigate. Nr. J. W. Barrl~ger stat~ te the Ceunell that~the fee~ for moving buildi~gs the streets of ~g~e, Oregon were tee high, ~nd requesting the council te ~e~d the Ordinance relating thereto, reduclng the fees. Upon merles, the matter was laid the table. N~ J. Gl~seu appeared appeared before the Counell stating that the Osbcrn Hotel Company had mov~ a sm~ll building cn to their property at the cer~er cf 7th Av~enue a~d Pearl 'Street end ask~ f~r a~special pe~it to'make the ~ecessery repairs upon sald building. Upe~ motion, the petit'was grauted. ~aul P. ~arrens apPear~ before the Council representi,g the Southern P~ffic Railway Comply, snd.pr~tested the levying of an~ pa~t o~ the e~penses or c~St~ constructing-the sewer on ~r~klln Boulevard'against-said Railway Comply $ha~ the ~aliway Comply was not beneflt~ thereby. The ~lre md Wa~gr Comlttee by'Chairm~, Moshe~ reported the g~mting of a spee~ permit to ~.D. Ch~be~s to re~hlngle m house locat~t on Charnelton Street wit~l~ the fire limits in ~gen$, .Oregon.
