Mr G W Monroe was called to the Council ghambers at this t,hue <br />and took his oath of office before'the City Recorder and a proper certificate <br />of election was m~e and filed ~d counei~m~ G W Monroe l~edlat~ly entered <br />upom his offlolal dutl~ as a Councilman from the third ward.. <br /> <br /> The repor~ of InsPector o~-~ildin~s fo~ March 1922 w~'preSent~ ~d <br /> <br /> The quarterly report of the City Treasurer w~ present~ ~d o~de~ed <br /> <br />POLICE CCMMITTEE <br /> <br /> Chalrm~.an Willoughby.reported that the committee ~ad investigated the <br />matter of removal of bill boards at thesoutheast corner of intersection <br /> <br />of 5th and Blair streets amd that the boards could not be removed as they <br /> <br />were constructed on private property by permit of the Inspector of <br /> <br />Buildings On Motion the report was adopted. <br /> <br />JUDICIARY COMMITTEE. <br /> <br /> The Judiciary Committee and Me~Vor Paterson reported that h W No'~llng <br />would accept $100o00 for right of ~ay so that sewer might be constructed <br /> <br />from Polk street east to Gr~d street and south on Grand street to Railroad <br /> <br />Boulevard in the city of Eugene Upon motion, the repox, t was adopted and <br />the right of way deed authorized to be secured. <br /> Mr F A Re'kin ~ppeared before the Council smd stated that the water <br />pipes in front of h~s property at #70 6th ave west were moved a~d re- <br />placed when th ,ewer was built but the water was not turned onand asked <br />the Council to ~have the water turmoil on The matter was referred to the <br />fli'e and Water~committee and city Engineer with power to act. <br /> Mr. ~ I Collins represemting the owners ~f Battle Court asked the <br />Council to have a telephone pole removed from ia front of the entrance to <br />th$lr p~operty where gar~es have been constructed on the alley extending <br />north add south f~om l~th t, 12th ave east between Oak andPearl streets. <br />The matteP wa~ referred tO th~ ~ and water committee with power to act. <br /> <br /> <br />
