Council Chambers, EUgene, Oregon. Pebruary, l!th, 1924. Regular meeting of the City Council held in the Council 'Chembers Feb. 11, 1924. Present Councilmen McAllater, WaLker, Monroe, Simmons, Wllllamson~',~ Wallace amd Washburne. Absent, Mayor Parks and Councilman Nosher° The Mayor and President of ~he Counoll both being absent the meeting wa~ called to order by City Recorder Gilmore, who announced that the selection of ~ membe~ of the Council bo act as ehalrm~ would be In order. On motion duly earrled Counellm~ No~lster was elect- ed as ehal~ of the meeting. ' Counell e~ll~ to order ab 7:30 P.M. Minutes of the meetings of the Counell ~or J~. 14, J~ 21, and February 1, 1924, re~ ~d approved. Jo.hn Hunzicker appeared on behalf of the o',ncr of the Warnock Block recently burned, and submitted plans and prints relative to the repair thereof amd asking that said Owner be permitted to rebuild under the plans ~ubmitted. Said matter was referred to the ~ull[ling Inspector a~d the Fire and Water Committee. Attorney ~red E. Smith appeared calling attention to the condition of a oertalr. sidewalk in front of the Humphrey p£o~erty on South WilLamette Street. Same was referred to the Street Co:mnitteeo Harold Bassonette appeared and called the Comxcil's attention to thC'condition of the street at 16th Avenue West amd Jefferson Street. Same was referred to the. 'Street Committee. On motion duly carried it was agreed that hereafter in cases of people pro- posing the erection or repair of buildings in the Fire L~mits~of the city, said- matters be referred to the Bulldlng Inspector and he to report thereon 6efore the same be presented to the Council.
