Section 3. The Common Council of the City of Eugene is hereby authorized to <br /> <br />include in its general municipal tax levy each year sufficient special levy to <br /> <br />the Interest on th~ bonds and provide a sinking fund for the payment o£ them, when <br /> <br />- Section 4. -The' Common Council of 'the city 1~ hereby authorized to issue and <br /> <br />soil the said bonds, fnom time to time, as, they may be needed for the purpose here- <br />in specified, but ~efore~y of them shall be sold, they shall be advertised for <br />sale' by publication of a notice asking for bids therefor to be published in the~ <br />two daily papers now published in ~gene, Oregon, In at least one issue of such <br />d~ily papers, two Weeks prior to the tl~e Of 5he saie; ~nd ~hey'm~y a~o give <br />notice of the sale of said bond~ In such other papers. ~ they dg_~ to be best for <br />~he interest of tho city in efFeoting a sale; but, if no satisfactory bids for the <br /> <br />pur.~hase cf the.betide be recelv,ed, they re.ay sel~ them at private sale at not less <br />tham~ar and accru~] interco't: <br /> <br /> Sectlgn. That section 37, of chapter 7, of the charter of the City of <br /> <br />E,~mE, 6r~g(~n~ il~lting t~e'lr~d~b~,ecJn~s~ ~f'the city to ~hree Thousand (3,000) <br /> <br />Dollars is hereby repealed. <br /> <br />The foltowing resolution was read and on motion unanimously adopted: <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOtVED by the Common Council of tho City of EUgene, Oregon that there <br />be submitted to the ~eoto~s of the city for their approval or rejection at a <br />speola~ election tO be held In the city on the 2nd day of July 1924, th~ ~nex~ <br />proposed oha~'te~ ~en~aent entltl~ "~N ACT to ~e'nd the cha~er of ~he CI[y of <br />~gene, Oregon, by adding a new oh~ter thereto ~uthorlzlng ~d empowering the <br /> <br />Common Council of the Oity to issue and sell negotiable bonds of the City to the <br />amount of Ten Thousand (10,000) Dollars or so much thereof as ~nay be necessary for <br /> <br />the purpose of constructing a new concrete City Jail, and to repeal Section 37, of <br />Chapter 7, of the Charter of the City limiting the indebtedness to be created or <br />contracted by the 91ty to Three Thous~ud (3,000) Dollars." <br /> <br /> The foregoing resolution ~d proposed ~endment were filed In the office of <br />the City Recorder o~ the City on the 2nd d~ of May, 1924: <br /> <br /> The followl~g~ ~e the forms ~d n~bers In whloh the question wll~ be submit- <br />ted-to the~,eleetors of the city on theoffiolal ballet: <br /> <br /> Propos~ by Resolution of She Common Council of the City of ~gene, oregon, <br /> <br /> <br />
