After duly considering the same for some weeks, Chairman Wallace of the Pdlice <br />Committee, reported unfavorably on the establis~nent of a Merchant's Police in the <br />City, or the ~MployMent of anyone to act in that capacity. <br /> <br /> Chairmen S~nmons of the Sewer Committee reported on the outlet of the sewer at <br />the Auto Ce~p Grounds and Gave figures to show what different rights of way would <br />cost and also reported on the matter of condemning property for an outlet to .connect~ <br />with Trunk Sewer Line at Cheshire and Lawrence Streets.~ On motion, it was .ordered <br />that the City proceed by condemnation to procure a right of ,way for such outLet. <br /> <br /> Mayor Parks reported a communication from Dr. iWaldo L. Cheshire offering for a <br />co~sideration of $4000 to deed to the City for street purposes the ground from <br />Willamette street to Olive Street as a continuation of Thirteenth Avenue, the city <br />to assome all expense for the improvements. Ho also reported that the ground ,emS ', <br />bra~ed in Thirteenth Avenue ifA extended from Olive Street '~ Charnelton Street, <br />wll~e deeded to th~t~y w~ou~co~sideration by Webster L. Klncaid if such street <br />is improved. On motion~t-he City Attorney was authorized to take proper moons to <br />close 'the Cheshire deal as per the offer made and also to procure title to the <br />Kincaid property so as to make a continuous street of Thirteenth Avenue from Willam- <br />ette Street to Charnelton Street. <br /> <br /> The petition of J. B. Hopkins for relief from his sidewal~ allessment to the ex- <br />tent of $100 was, on motion, laid on the table. <br /> <br /> Applications were received from H. G. Taylor for the erection of an Aerial at <br />1598 Columbia. Also one by J. A. Zimmer at 220 Blair Blvd., and one from L, N. <br />Crou.~e at 695 West Eleventh Avenue. On motion such applications were granted. <br /> <br />On motion Council adjourned to meet at the hour of 5 o'clock P.M. on.ay 27, 1924, <br /> <br />~Geo. A.
